Nomad launches two major new projects in Finland at the ICOM ICEE conference:
Armenia: Legend and Reality represents the most comprehensive exhibition of Armenian cultural heritage ever presented internationally. Using extraordinary artefacts from all major Armenian museums and galleries alongside immersive digital media content, the exhibition explores the deeply rooted yet elusive qualities of Armenian identity. This richly illustrated exhibition available to tour internationally from 2015, will consolidate this sense of identity for the Armenian diaspora whilst providing a comprehensive and fascinating introduction for those who are new to Armenian heritage.
Tombs of the Liao Dynasty: Treasures from the Afterlife features artefacts preserved for centuries in underground Liao burial tombs, and discovered as recently as a decade ago. The Liao Dynasty, also known as the Khitan Empire, ruled over a large portion of East Asia from the 10th to 12th centuries. The tombs offer us a glimpse into a lost world where through death we can learn what was important to the Liao in life. Drawn from the world famous collections of Inner Mongolia Museum and touring exclusively through Nomad Exhibitions, this unique exhibition is available for hire from summer 2015.
