Italian Treasures

Italian Treasures from Glasgow Life Museums

This exhibition is drawn from the exquisite collection of Italian Renaissance art from Glasgow City Council. Their holdings represent the finest and most comprehensive collection of Italian paintings held by any civic museum in the UK.

Featuring 58 remarkable artworks, created between 1400 to 1900, highlights include Giovanni Bellini’s iconic The Virgin and Child, and Titian’s Christ and the Adulteress. These will be displayed alongside 31 additional masterpiece paintings, as well as outstanding examples of ceramics, glass, lace, sculpture, and arms and armour, including two from the world-renowned Burrell Collection.

The exhibition will travel across China from September 2025, launching in Shenzhen followed by Nanjing Museum, with further venues to be announced. Nomad Exhibitions is working in partnership with Glasgow Life to tour these works to new audiences.
